Akage no Anne

Marilla and Matthew Cuthbert, a pair of middle-aged siblings sharing a quiet life at Green Gables farm in the rural community of Avonlea on Prince Edward Island, decide to adopt an orphan boy from the local asylum to help with their agricultural work. However, a series of unexpected mishaps leads to a surprising arrival: instead of the requested boy, an eleven-year-old girl named Anne Shirley is delivered to their doorstep. Bright, quick-witted, and eager to please her new guardians, Anne nonetheless struggles with deep insecurities about her appearance. She harbors a strong dislike for her own name, her pale complexion dotted with freckles, and her long braids of striking red hair. Despite these personal frustrations, she possesses a remarkably vivid imagination that allows her to find profound joy in the world around her. Rather than being defeated by the initial confusion of her placement, Anne adapts swiftly to her unexpected circumstances. Her spirited nature and boundless creativity enable her to thrive within the pastoral environment of Prince Edward Island, transforming what began as a simple misunderstanding into the start of a vibrant new chapter for both herself and the Cuthbert household.
