Jisatsu suru ni wa Mukanai Kisetsu

One ordinary morning, Nagase’s life is shattered when he witnesses his classmate, Tsubasa Amamiya, step directly into the path of an oncoming train. Haunted by the tragedy, he becomes consumed with a single, agonizing question: why did she choose to die? No matter how deeply he searches for an answer, the motive behind her sudden suicide remains entirely beyond his understanding. Noticing his friend's quiet torment, a boy named Fukai offers Nagase a peculiar object—a small capsule that he claims functions as a miniature time machine. Though heavily skeptical, Nagase accepts the strange device out of sheer desperation. When he opens his eyes again, he finds himself inexplicably transported two weeks into the past. Armed with this impossible second chance, he begins searching for Amamiya, eventually finding her standing alone on the school rooftop beneath the falling rain. Now, he must uncover the truth before history repeats itself. Winner of the First Prize at the 6th Kodansha Ranobe Bunko Rookie of the Year Awards.
