Taro Yamada appears to be a well-rounded high school student, excelling in sports and possessing a kind demeanor. However, his seemingly perfect facade conceals a harsh reality: he comes from a poor family, living in a small shack with his mother and six younger siblings. His father, an artist, is often absent, leaving Taro to take on the burden of providing for his family. To make ends meet, he relies on the kindness of girls who fall for him, accepting their bento lunches, works multiple jobs, and even resorts to desperate measures like having a "pet" dog to supplement their income.
