Romero wa Sekai wo Sukuwanai

Six months have passed since the world came to an end, yet a young man remains behind in an abandoned shopping mall alongside his manager. While the rest of humanity departed long ago—chasing rumors that salvation awaits those who reach the center of the city—he has stayed put, enduring the quiet apocalypse alone. His routine is shattered during one of his regular patrols when he stumbles upon the first living person he has encountered in what feels like an eternity. The stranger introduces herself simply as Romero, but she is not wandering the desolate ruins in search of food, water, or refuge. Instead, she is on a singular, baffling mission: to find a movie. Unfazed by the collapse of civilization, she declares that with the world already in flames, there is no better time to sit back and enjoy a film. This exhilarating debut from a rising new author delivers a refreshingly defiant take on the end of days, proving that nothing compares to watching a great flick while the world burns around you.
