Newton no Tsubomi

Ogi is a highly sensitive young boy living with synesthesia, a neurological condition that transforms his everyday experiences into vivid visual phenomena. Whenever he hears sounds or looks at the people around him, his vision fills with brilliant sparkles of color, making his world an overwhelming canvas of constant light and hue. In stark contrast stands Tachibana, a fiercely strong-willed girl battling a severe and progressive form of color blindness. Her reality is slowly fading as her condition relentlessly strips away her ability to perceive full color, leaving her surroundings increasingly washed out and grey. She faces a quiet but devastating loss, watching the vibrancy drain from her life day by day. Their vastly different realities intersect in a single dramatic moment when Tachibana intervenes to save Ogi from what she believes is a suicide attempt. This unexpected rescue brings together two individuals whose perceptions of the world are exact opposites—one drowning in an excess of color, the other mourning its gradual disappearance. As their lives become intertwined, they must navigate the profound emotional collision between a world overflowing with brilliance and one steadily surrendering to monochrome.
