Revival Blue

In the summer of 2009, fourteen-year-old Minato is consumed by preparations for his high school entrance exams. His routine shifts when he crosses paths with Naoki Okisaka, a long-term guest staying at the small inn managed by Minato’s mother. Originally from Minato’s quiet hometown but now living in Tokyo, Naoki immediately captivates the young boy, who has always dreamed of leaving his provincial life behind to explore the wider world. Drawn to Naoki's experiences, Minato spends the entire season pulling him into carefree adventures alongside his best friend, Akiyoshi. However, the fleeting nature of summer eventually forces reality back into their lives. Naoki must return to the city, and the boys are left to face the pressures of growing up, returning to their ordinary routines as the golden days fade away. Yet, the memories forged during that unforgettable summer refuse to disappear. Even years later, when Minato and Akiyoshi have matured into full-fledged adults, the profound impact of 2009 continues to linger, shaping the men they have become and binding them to the past they thought they had outgrown.
