Sensou wa Onna no Kao wo Shiteinai

Sensou wa Onna no Kao wo Shiteinai chronicles the harrowing and often overlooked experiences of Soviet women who served during wartime. More than a million women answered the call, stepping into roles that spanned the front lines, the home front, and the occupied territories. Far from remaining on the sidelines, they became nurses, doctors, pilots, tank drivers, machine-gunners, and snipers, thrust into the brutal reality of armed conflict. These women fought shoulder to shoulder with their male counterparts, enduring the same devastating conditions and making equal sacrifices in the pursuit of victory. Yet, when the war finally ended, their monumental contributions were swiftly erased from public memory. The narrative explores this profound injustice, highlighting the stark contrast between their immense courage on the battlefield and the silence that greeted them in its aftermath. Ultimately, the story serves as a powerful reclamation of history, giving voice to those whose efforts were systematically forgotten. By shedding light on their untold struggles and resilience, it ensures that the true cost of war is understood through the eyes of the women who lived it, restoring their rightful place in the historical record.
