Keizoku/Manga

Jun Shibata graduates at the top of her class, marking her as an elite detective candidate destined for a promising career in law enforcement. However, instead of being assigned to high-profile investigations, she is transferred to a specialized department tasked exclusively with cold cases that the rest of the police force has officially deemed unsolvable. Her new partner is a seasoned and well-respected veteran of the force, but years of fruitlessly chasing dead ends have left him deeply complacent. He views their assignment as little more than an exercise in futility, having long since abandoned any real hope of cracking the impossible mysteries stacked in their office. Compounding the challenge, Jun’s refined, upper-class background leads her new colleagues to dismiss her entirely. They expect her privileged upbringing to render her useless in the gritty reality of investigative work, assuming she will quickly fold under the pressure of hopeless cases. Yet, Jun refuses to conform to their low expectations. Armed with relentless motivation and extraordinary powers of deduction, she immediately begins dismantling the assumptions of everyone around her. As she tackles the very cases the department had given up on, she proves that her sharp intellect and unwavering drive are more than enough to breathe life into investigations that others considered permanently lost.
