Higurashi no Naku Koro ni - Dai 1-wa: Onikakushi-hen

Keiichi Maebara has recently relocated to the quiet, rural village of Hinamizawa. Eager to settle into his new life, he joins a local club and quickly forms close bonds with a group of welcoming friends. For a time, his days are filled with the simple joys of countryside living and lighthearted companionship, offering him a comforting sense of belonging in an unfamiliar place. However, the peaceful facade of Hinamizawa soon begins to fracture as Keiichi uncovers a deeply unsettling local legend. He learns of Oyashiro-sama's curse, a grim tradition tied to the village where, every single year, one person is found dead while another vanishes without a trace. What starts as whispered folklore rapidly transforms into a suffocating nightmare when Keiichi realizes that these annual tragedies may not be mere coincidence or supernatural retribution. As paranoia takes hold, the terrifying possibility emerges that those closest to him might be directly responsible for the gruesome pattern. Surrounded by smiling faces that now hide sinister potential, Keiichi finds himself trapped in a web of suspicion. With no one left to trust and the shadow of the curse looming over him, he must navigate a harrowing struggle for survival against the very friends he once thought he knew.
