Takeda Shingen

Set against the turbulent backdrop of Japan’s perilous Sengoku period, this manga chronicles the early life of Takeda Harunobu, the historical figure who would later become renowned as Takeda Shingen. At just fifteen years old, Harunobu experiences his first taste of warfare when he accompanies his father to the Battle of Un no Kuchi. As the battle turns and his father is forced into a retreat, the young warrior seizes the opportunity to claim his very first military victory, proving his formidable potential on the battlefield. However, this triumph marks the beginning of a deep fracture within the Takeda clan. Following the battle, the dynamic between Harunobu and his father, Takeda Nobutora, shifts irrevocably. Whispers begin to circulate through the ranks, carrying dangerous rumors that Nobutora intends to bypass his eldest son and instead bequeath the family inheritance to Harunobu’s younger brother. As these murmurs grow louder, suspicion takes root in the young warrior's mind. The bond between father and son deteriorates rapidly, replaced by a mounting tension that threatens to tear the clan apart. Driven by ambition and the need to secure his rightful place, Harunobu gradually becomes convinced that decisive action must be taken to address his father's betrayal before his own future is stripped away.
