High school represents the ultimate opportunity for a fresh start, and no one desires this transformation more than Toujima Asahi. Determined to shed her past and cultivate a new, effortlessly cool persona, she enrolls at Futatsuzaka High School. The institution carries a unique dynamic, having only recently transitioned from an all-girls academy. As a result, the female student body outnumbers the male population five to one, leaving the campus culture and its extracurricular activities heavily tailored toward young women. However, reinventing oneself proves far more challenging than Asahi anticipated. Her journey takes an unexpected turn when she crosses paths with Maharu, a fiercely strong-willed girl who introduces her to the world of Naginata—a traditional martial art bearing similarities to kendo. Through Maharu’s influence, Asahi discovers that this discipline might be exactly what she needs to forge her new identity. Unlike many other sports, Naginata offers a remarkable environment where even those who lack natural athletic prowess can train hard enough to compete and shine on a national stage, giving Asahi a genuine path toward becoming the person she has always wanted to be.
