Date A Live

On April 10th, the first day back after spring vacation, Itsuka Shidou expects nothing more than an ordinary morning. Awakened by his affectionate younger sister, he steps out into what he assumes will be a routine school day. However, his expectations are shattered when a devastating shockwave obliterates the surrounding townscape, leaving behind nothing but a massive crater. Standing in the center of this sudden destruction is a mysterious girl who calls herself a spirit. When she asks if he has come to kill her, Shidou realizes he is face-to-face with a catastrophic entity of unknown origin—a being capable of annihilating humanity and entirely rejected by the world. Confronted with this unprecedented crisis, Shidou learns that there are only two possible ways to neutralize the threat: eradicate her through military force or communicate with her peacefully. His sister Kotori, unexpectedly appearing in a military uniform, presents him with an absurd yet vital directive. She insists that his only option is to take the spirit on a date and make her fall in love with him. Thrust into an impossible situation where romance dictates survival, Shidou must navigate a dangerous new reality, ushering in an extraordinary era where a simple boy-meets-girl encounter holds the fate of the world in the balance.
