Date A Live

For years, the world has been rocked by massive quakes of unknown origin, each one leaving devastation in its wake—yet somehow, everyday life has carried on undeterred. For high school student Shidou Itsuka, that fragile normalcy ends forever one fateful day. Caught in the middle of a quake striking his own city, he comes face to face with a mysterious girl who is, unbelievably, a spirit—and the very source of the destruction that has plagued the world. Before he can even begin to comprehend what he has witnessed, a strike team arrives on the scene with orders to eliminate the threat. Plunged without warning into a conflict far greater than anything he has ever known, Shidou refuses to simply stand by and watch as the spirits are hunted down. Instead, he resolves to protect them—though his method of salvation is as outrageous as it is unexpected: to save a spirit, he must make her fall in love with him.
