Master of Sea

Maritime salvors are specialized professionals who recover wrecked vessels and secure their cargo, operating under a strict commercial model that sets them apart from traditional rescue teams. Unlike emergency responders who prioritize saving lives above all else, salvors typically demand financial compensation before extending any assistance. Nanba Rintarou grew up in the shadow of this industry, as his father owned and operated a salvage company. Disgusted by what he perceived as a mercenary approach to maritime emergencies, Rintarou rejected his family’s legacy and dedicated himself to joining a legitimate rescue organization instead. Just as Rintarou completed his training to begin his new career, tragedy struck with the sudden death of his father. Rather than finding closure, Rintarou was thrust into an overwhelming predicament when his father’s will was read. The document not only requested that Rintarou abandon his ideals and assume control of the salvage business, but it also revealed a staggering financial burden: an inherited debt of 1.5 billion yen. Now trapped between his moral convictions and an inescapable obligation, Rintarou must navigate treacherous waters to honor his father's final wishes while confronting the crushing weight of a fortune he never asked for.
