Tsuki wo Sasu Yubi

Yoshiyuki Fujii is a thirty-two-year-old bachelor working as a cameraman, yet his career has yielded little in the way of fulfillment or success. Feeling adrift and lacking any real direction in life, he makes an unexpected decision to alter his path entirely. When his uncle—a Buddhist monk with no heir—needs someone to inherit the family temple, Fujii seizes the opportunity for a fresh start by enrolling in a Buddhist institute to train for the clergy. Thrust into a world governed by unfamiliar etiquette and strict traditions, Fujii initially struggles to adapt to the rigid demands of monastic education. However, his journey is far from solitary. Through the lively adventures and shared experiences with his new classmates, he begins to form bonds that challenge his previously aimless worldview. What starts as a practical arrangement to secure a livelihood gradually transforms into something far more profound. Without even realizing it, Fujii finds his perspective shifting, naturally drawing him closer to the fundamental values of Buddhism and offering him the sense of purpose he had spent his entire adult life searching for.
