Gene Bride

Isahaya Ichi has grown exhausted by the men around her. As a woman navigating a deeply unfair professional landscape, she endures constant underestimation and unwelcome sexual harassment in the workplace. Her daily life is defined by frustration and the heavy burden of being undervalued simply because of her gender, leaving her with little patience or hope for meaningful connection. However, her reality shifts dramatically when Masaki, a former classmate from her past, makes an unexpected return. He arrives with a startling claim: he is the other half of her "destined pair." This designation stems from a peculiar junior high school event known as "Gene Bride," during which students were temporarily matched into couples for a single day based entirely on their genetic information. While Ichi retains only the faintest memory of that long-ago experiment, Masaki’s sudden reappearance forces her to confront a past she had largely forgotten. His insistence on their genetically determined bond sets them both on a compelling journey of rediscovery, gradually unearthing buried secrets that threaten to reshape everything she thought she knew about her life, her identity, and the people around her.
