Harada Takumi is a baseball prodigy whose exceptional talent far exceeds his age. However, despite his remarkable abilities, Takumi finds himself consumed by frustration and on the verge of abandoning the sport entirely. His family has recently relocated to a quiet, rural town, and the local level of play offers him no real challenge or support. The core of Takumi’s despair lies in his inability to find a capable partner behind the plate. His pitches are simply too fast and demanding for any local player to handle, leaving him isolated in his skill. Without a catcher who can match his intensity and properly receive his throws, his extraordinary potential feels wasted in this remote setting. He begins to lose hope, convinced that no one in this small community will ever be able to keep pace with his game. Just as Takumi prepares to walk away from baseball altogether, a turning point arrives in the form of a boy named Nagakura Gou.
