Tasked with the unusual directive to find "players with beautiful legs," Yukari Ogata, a sports reporter for Kicker Weekly, is assigned to cover Tokyo Crusade, an amateur football club. What initially appears to be a trivial assignment quickly transforms into a potentially career-defining scoop when she witnesses Chihiro Oki attending the team's tryouts. Known in underground football circles by the alias "Joker," Oki is a freelance player surrounded by extraordinary rumors: he is said to be capable of mastering any position on the pitch, and whichever team secures his services is virtually guaranteed victory. Yet, despite this legendary reputation, he has somehow remained hidden from the professional world, leaving Ogata desperate to uncover the truth behind his obscurity. As the story unfolds, Tokyo Crusade proves to be far more than a standard amateur squad. The Division III roster is an eclectic mix featuring a former league professional, a collection of unpolished misfits, and an eccentric coach determined to forge them into a unified force. With Ogata documenting their journey, this unlikely ensemble sets its sights on an almost impossible goal—claiming the prestigious Emperor's Cup.
