Mappa Douji

Following the tragic death of his mother, a young boy named Asaha is thrust into a world of absolute isolation. Stripped of both his home and any remaining family ties, he finds himself adrift with nowhere to turn. His bleak existence takes an unexpected turn when he encounters a mysterious demon named Ohachiyo. Rather than treating the orphaned child as prey, the otherworldly being extends a hand of companionship, forging an unlikely bond that will forever alter the boy's destiny. Recognizing the child's vulnerability and potential, Ohachiyo strips away his former identity and bestows upon him a new name: Mappa Douji, meaning "Demon Child." This renaming marks the beginning of Asaha’s transformation from a helpless orphan into something far more formidable. Under Ohachiyo’s careful guidance, the newly christened Mappa Douji begins to learn the ways of his mentor, absorbing knowledge that no ordinary human would ever possess. As their partnership deepens, Ohachiyo grants Mappa Douji a remarkable and terrifying gift—the demonic power to read minds. Armed with this supernatural ability and the teachings of his demonic companion, the boy who once had nothing is now equipped to navigate a world fraught with hidden intentions. What began as a story of profound loss slowly evolves into a dark coming-of-age journey, as Mappa Douji steps fully into his extraordinary new reality.
