A Girl & Her Guard Dog

Isaku never chose a life tied to the criminal underworld. After her parents were killed in a car accident when she was just five years old, she was taken in by her grandfather, a powerful yakuza boss who raised her within the ranks of his clan. Throughout her childhood, the stigma of her family’s dangerous reputation kept classmates at a distance, leaving her isolated and longing for ordinary friendships. Now entering high school, Isaku is determined to leave that lonely past behind. She enrolls with the hope of finally experiencing a normal adolescence, making genuine friends, and perhaps even finding romance. However, her carefully laid plans unravel almost immediately when Keiya, her fiercely loyal twenty-six-year-old guardian and family retainer, decides to enroll in the exact same high school. Driven by an unwavering commitment to keep her safe, he vows to shield her from every perceived threat—including potential suitors and the everyday challenges of teenage life. Armed with a chain-smoking habit, a pistol, and an overbearing sense of duty, this questionable knight in shining armor transforms Isaku’s dream of a peaceful school experience into a chaotic ordeal. Caught between her desire for a typical youth and the relentless watchfulness of her devoted protector, Isaku must figure out how to navigate the turbulent waters of high school without losing her mind or her chance at happiness.
