In Himi City, handball is more than just a sport—it is a defining passion. The city’s reputation for producing exceptional athletes draws high schools from across Japan, all eager to scout and recruit the most talented players for their own rosters. Amid this fiercely competitive environment stands Hinezumi High, the area’s only public school. Despite reaching the prestigious Inter-High tournament four years ago, the team has since fallen into a prolonged slump, struggling to recapture its past success. Desperate to restore their former glory, the school’s handball club adopts a controversial new philosophy centered on the belief that physical size directly translates to dominance on the court. To enforce this strategy, they implement a strict height requirement for all prospective members, effectively barring shorter students from joining the roster. This rigid policy creates an immediate obstacle for Shiguma Eito, a first-year student who recently transferred from Tokyo. Though he falls short of the club’s newly imposed physical criteria, Eito possesses an unwavering determination to play handball for Hinezumi High. Refusing to let a simple measurement dictate his athletic future, he sets out to challenge the team’s restrictive standards and prove that true skill cannot be defined by stature alone.
