Crueler Than Dead

No one knows how the outbreak began, but by the time humanity realized the truth, it was already too late. Maki Akagi awakens in a laboratory surrounded by corpses, where a dying soldier reveals that she is the product of a desperate final experiment—a living cure for the virus transforming people into zombies. Joined by a young boy who also miraculously survived, she must navigate the ruins of a devastated Tokyo now overrun by bloodthirsty monsters. Their destination is a massive dome at the city’s center sheltering the last remnants of mankind. Humanity’s survival hinges entirely on the few drops of miraculous vaccine coursing through Maki's veins, forcing her to push forward through unimaginable danger. Every step toward salvation is fraught with lethal threats and unrelenting tension. Crueler Than Dead delivers fast-paced, intensely graphic horror that demands a strong stomach from its readers. Drawing inspiration from Katsuhiro Otomo’s Akira, The Walking Dead, George A. Romero’s classics, and modern zombie films like 28 Days Later, the manga presents a terrifying vision of the apocalypse. With a meticulous focus on grotesque detail and decomposed flesh, it crafts a deeply unsettling world defined by relentless dread and visceral brutality.
