The Death Mage

Hiroto Amamiya was a young man plagued by relentless misfortune. His streak of bad luck culminated in a tragic death during a school boating accident, where he perished attempting to rescue a girl he barely knew. In the afterlife, he encountered a god of reincarnation who tasked him with guiding the souls of roughly one hundred deceased passengers—including the very girl he had failed to save—into a new world. However, a cascade of unfortunate circumstances stripped Hiroto of his blessings before rebirth, leaving him with nothing but an overwhelming reserve of mana. This second life proved far more agonizing than his first, ending in a cruel and premature death. When Hiroto stood before the deity once more, he learned that yet another reincarnation was already underway and impossible to halt. Hoping to spare him from enduring a third lifetime of torment, the god inflicted a curse upon his soul, intending for him to die swiftly or take his own life. Reborn as a dhampir—a hybrid of vampire and dark elf—Hiroto refuses to surrender to despair. Determined to avoid a fourth existence, he resolves to survive this new world armed solely with the remnants of his past lives: a vast ocean of mana and the forbidden power of Death Magic.
