Shiroiro to Kuroiro

In a world defined by stark contrasts, two figures are bound together in an endless pursuit. The "white child" constantly chases, driven by an unspoken need to reach the one always slipping away. Meanwhile, the "black child" perpetually flees, retreating into the shadows as if running from something far greater than the figure at their heels. This relentless back-and-forth dance is far more than a simple game of tag; it forms the very foundation of their shared journey toward self-discovery and their deeply personal search for happiness. Through this delicate interplay of chasing and escaping, both characters navigate the complexities of their own identities. Their intertwined path becomes a poignant exploration of longing, connection, and the quiet struggle to find where they truly belong. Every step taken in pursuit or retreat brings them closer to understanding themselves and the fragile bond they share. Possessing the whimsical charm of a classic picture book and the emotional precision of a finely crafted poem, this narrative weaves its themes with breathtaking subtlety. Originally released as an early work by creator Kagisora Tomiyaki, this beautifully atmospheric story has now been carefully reprinted and collected into a single tankobon volume for readers to experience anew.
