Majo wo Mamoru.

During the 16th century, Europe was consumed by a wave of mass hysteria known as the witch hunts. In this dark and chaotic era, tens of thousands of innocent people were persecuted and executed after being condemned as practitioners of witchcraft. Fear and superstition ruled society, leaving countless individuals defenseless against baseless accusations and brutal public trials. Amidst this widespread madness, one man dared to stand against the tide of irrationality. Johann Weyer, a real-life physician and a pioneering figure in the early field of psychiatry, refused to accept the cruel fate awaiting those branded as witches. Instead of succumbing to the prevailing paranoia, he dedicated himself to saving the accused by utilizing the power of medical knowledge. By treating their afflictions as matters of health rather than demonic influence, Weyer challenged the deadly dogma of his time. This compelling historical drama chronicles Weyer's courageous efforts to protect the vulnerable from persecution. Set against the grim backdrop of an age defined by fear, it explores the profound conflict between emerging scientific understanding and deeply entrenched superstition, highlighting the extraordinary resolve of a doctor who risked everything to defend the condemned.
