The Outsider

This manga presents a compelling anthology of four distinct literary adaptations, bringing together classic works from celebrated authors alongside an original narrative. The collection opens with H.P. Lovecraft’s "The Outsider," a chilling tale of isolation and gothic horror, followed by Anton Chekhov’s poignant drama "The House with the Mezzanine." Maxim Gorky’s gritty story "Twenty-six Men and a Girl" rounds out the historical selections, exploring themes of hardship and human resilience. Anchoring the volume is "Ju-ga," an original story crafted by manga artist Tanabe Gou. By weaving these diverse narratives into a single compilation, the work bridges the gap between traditional literature and sequential art. Each story offers readers a unique atmospheric experience, ranging from psychological dread to emotional introspection, all unified under Tanabe Gou's distinctive visual storytelling.
