What's Michael?

What's Michael? chronicles the ever-changing escapades of a spirited ginger tabby named Michael. Rather than following a single continuous narrative, the manga presents a dynamic anthology format where the setting and circumstances shift dramatically from one story to the next. In one tale, Michael might be the beloved pet of a young Japanese couple navigating everyday life together. In the very next chapter, he could find himself living with an older, established family complete with children, adapting to an entirely different household dynamic. The variety of Michael’s owners extends far beyond typical domestic arrangements, adding unexpected layers of humor and intrigue to his adventures. He is just as likely to be kept by a formidable yakuza member, placing the orange tabby in highly unconventional and entertaining situations. The series frequently pushes its comedic boundaries even further by abandoning realistic scenarios altogether. Some stories transport Michael and his feline companions into surreal, anthropomorphic settings where groups of cats don sharp business suits for the corporate world or take to the diamond wearing athletic uniforms to play baseball. Through these constantly shifting environments and imaginative premises, the manga delivers a charming, unpredictable exploration of feline antics across every conceivable walk of life.
