Akiha Konno’s new life in Tokyo begins with an unexpected ordeal. While traveling by train to his very first day of school, he is subjected to unwanted physical contact from a stranger. Fortunately, a kind college student steps in to rescue him from the uncomfortable situation. Overwhelmed by gratitude and relief, Akiha impulsively throws himself at his savior in a tight embrace, far exceeding what anyone would consider a normal expression of thanks. The encounter takes an even more embarrassing turn when Akiha becomes deeply flustered. In his heightened emotional state, a pair of fox ears mysteriously appears on his head—a peculiar trait that manifests whenever he is worked up. Rather than reacting with confusion or alarm, the older student simply smiles and calls the sudden appendages cute, leaving Akiha thoroughly mortified. Despite the intensity of their brief meeting, Akiha attempts to brush off the incident as a fleeting moment of chaos. He convinces himself that since they are strangers navigating a massive city, their paths will never cross again.
