The Elegant Case Records of Inspector Akechi

As an official side story to the acclaimed The Young Kindaichi Case Files, this series shifts the spotlight to the brilliant and sophisticated Inspector Kengo Akechi. This compelling collection chronicles a series of baffling investigations that test the sharp intellect and refined intuition of the elite police investigator. The narrative spans four distinct cases, beginning with a deadly mystery aboard a train in "Testimony Puzzle," followed by a high-stakes psychological game of deception in "Killing Poker," a strategic battle of wits in "Dead Person's Checkmate," and a chilling puzzle set within a haunted establishment in "Ghost Hotel Murder Case." The collection also includes a special vignette, "Supt. Akechi Morning's Pretty Scenery," offering a glimpse into the tranquil morning routine of the polished detective before he dives back into the dark complexities of the criminal underworld.
