Hikage no Ito

In the one-shot "Hikage no Ito," two individuals—a man and a woman who bear a striking resemblance to one another, both wearing glasses—arrange a clandestine meeting at the outskirts of town. Their encounter follows a strict, methodical routine. Upon his arrival, she immediately inspects him, first verifying whether he has bathed and then examining his mouth. Despite the inherently awkward nature of their transaction, events progress steadily forward as they move through their predetermined steps. The financial arrangement between them is equally calculated. She secures an advance payment while remaining secluded in her room within her parents' house. Once the initial exchange is settled, the physical progression of their encounter unfolds with detached precision, involving intimate acts and the use of protection. This cyclical, mechanical dynamic repeats itself without deviation, driving the narrative forward through successive encounters. Ultimately, this rigid sequence of meetings and exchanges concludes quietly, leaving the final interaction abandoned in a forgotten corner of the city.
