Konketsuji Rika

Set in the turbulent aftermath of World War II, Konketsuji Rika unfolds against the gritty backdrop of a fractured Japan. The story begins in Yokosuka, where a young girl named Rika is born under tragic circumstances—the result of an assault by an occupying soldier. From her earliest days, she is forced to navigate a deeply prejudiced society that views her mixed heritage with hostility and contempt. Everywhere she goes, she endures the cold, unforgiving stares of those around her, bearing the heavy burden of a nation's resentment despite being entirely innocent of its historical wounds. Refusing to be broken by the relentless marginalization, Rika channels her pain into fierce resilience as the first volume charts her journey toward self-determination. Leaving Yokosuka behind, she makes her way to the neighboring port city of Yokohama, where she seeks to forge her own path outside the boundaries of a society that has already rejected her. Through sheer force of will, she rises from a despised outcast to become the commanding leader of a formidable group of delinquent girls. In claiming this role, Rika transforms her trauma into authority, carving out a space of power and belonging in a world that offered her neither.
