Desperate to save their community, a young monk named Benzon journeys to Kouzen-ji temple to seek assistance. He returns with an unlikely savior: Hayate, a renowned exorcist dog celebrated for his prowess against malevolent spirits. Together, they devise a trap to capture the evil entity terrorizing the countryside. However, the carefully laid plan unravels in an entirely unexpected way. When Mashira, the kakuen behind the village's torment, encounters the magnificent hound, he does not attack. Instead, the creature decides to adopt Hayate as his own. What was meant to be a decisive battle transforms into something far more complicated. Thus begins the chaotic and unpredictable relationship between two powerful Japanese supernatural beings, setting the stage for a story where ancient folklore collides with unforeseen bonds.
