Makoto “Smile” Tsukimoto and his close friend Yutaka “Peco” Hoshino have shared a passion for table tennis since childhood. However, as the two enter high school, they quickly discover that the competitive landscape of the sport has shifted dramatically. Recognizing a raw talent in the pair that they have yet to fully grasp themselves, their school’s coach recruits them to join the team, determined to push them beyond their current limits. To draw out their true potential, the coach sets his sights on the upcoming summer tournament, where Smile and Peco must face off against elite players from rival schools. Among their formidable opponents is an exceptional Chinese exchange student who nearly secured a place on the Olympic team. As the stakes rise and the competition intensifies, both young athletes are forced to confront their own shortcomings and the mounting expectations placed upon them. With the pressure mounting, Smile and Peco must find the resilience to withstand the heat of the matches and fight their way toward the finals.
