Kuneru Marta Novo

Marta is a Portuguese graduate student navigating the challenges of job hunting in Japan. She resides in an apartment building alongside several Japanese women her own age, interacting with them on a daily basis as she adjusts to life in a foreign country. Despite her academic background, securing stable employment proves difficult, leaving her finances severely strained—if she has any income at all. This constant lack of funds forces Marta to rely on highly unorthodox methods just to prepare her meals. Her everyday existence becomes a series of small struggles and comedic mishaps born from her tight budget and unfamiliar surroundings. Yet, she never faces these hurdles entirely alone. Her neighbors consistently step in to lend a helping hand, guiding her through each new predicament. Through their ongoing support and shared daily interactions, Marta gradually learns to overcome the obstacles of her unconventional lifestyle, turning her financial hardships into opportunities for connection and unexpected culinary creativity.
