The National Local Mascot Festival is meant to be a joyous celebration, drawing children from every corner of Japan to meet their beloved regional characters. However, the festive atmosphere quickly shatters when a horrifying truth emerges: the figures inside the oversized costumes are not human performers. Instead, they conceal sinister entities driven by an insatiable hunger for human flesh. What begins as a nationwide event rapidly descends into widespread panic, plunging the entire country into chaos as these monstrous impostors turn the gathering into a hunting ground. Caught in the center of this sudden nightmare are Keigo Ayahara, his younger brother Makoto, and their friend Ako. As the violence escalates and society crumbles around them, the trio is thrust into a desperate struggle to stay alive. Surrounded by relentless threats disguised as childhood icons, they must navigate a fractured world where danger lurks behind every smiling mascot face. To endure the unfolding catastrophe, Keigo, Makoto, and Ako are forced to fight not only for their physical survival but also to protect their humanity against the encroaching darkness.
