Cousin

Eighteen-year-old Tsubomi has long struggled with insecurities about her weight. Fresh out of high school, she begins working part-time at a video rental store, hoping for a quiet fresh start. There, she meets Shiro, a nineteen-year-old coworker whose shifts consistently overlap with hers. During their time together, he casually mentions that something about her reminds him of someone familiar, though he cannot immediately place it. A few days into the job, Tsubomi accidentally bumps into a customer in one of the aisles. The stranger departs but leaves his membership card behind, revealing his name to be Nasukawa. She soon discovers that he is an acquaintance of Shiro’s, adding another unexpected connection to her new workplace. Meanwhile, a commercial jingle playing in the store suddenly sparks a realization for Shiro. He finally understands what caught his attention: Tsubomi shares striking eyes with a famous model featured in the advertisement. In a surprising twist, that glamorous model turns out to be none other than Tsubomi’s own cousin, setting the stage for an unexpected turn of events.
