Charlie is no ordinary teenager. Born in a biological science laboratory, he is a "Humanzee"—a unique hybrid of human and chimpanzee. Despite his extraordinary origins, he was raised by loving adoptive parents who provided him with a stable upbringing. Now fifteen years old, Charlie is preparing to navigate the unfamiliar social landscape of high school, hoping to experience a life as close to normal as possible. His transition into adolescence takes a meaningful turn when he crosses paths with Lucy, an intelligent but isolated classmate. She becomes his very first friend, offering him a genuine connection that he has never known before. For a brief moment, it seems Charlie might finally find his place in the world. However, this fragile sense of normalcy is violently disrupted by shadows from his past. Fifteen years ago, a radical group of animal rights extremists liberated Charlie’s mother from the very laboratory where he was created. Now, those same individuals have resurfaced, having evolved from activists into ruthless terrorists. Their new objective is singular and absolute: they intend to kidnap Charlie at any cost, plunging him into a dangerous conflict that threatens everything he has built.
