Arata’s ordinary routine working at a local bento shop is disrupted when a familiar face suddenly vanishes. He finds himself worrying over Shun, a regular customer who has abruptly stopped coming in for his usual meals. This lingering concern sets the stage for a dramatic and unexpected turn of events when Arata spots a drowning dog in the river and leaps into action to save it. That selfless rescue proves fatal, plunging Arata headfirst into the afterlife. Rather than moving directly onward, he finds himself confined to an otherworldly hotel, passing the days as he waits for permission to ascend to the heavens. Amid this strange limbo, the boundaries of life and death blur when he unexpectedly crosses paths with Shun once again, setting off a surreal new chapter for them both in the realm beyond.
