Ghost Writer

Twenty-five-year-old Mikage Tarou lives a life defined by quiet struggle. To everyone around him, he appears to be an unremarkable failure—a man with no prestigious education, no romantic experience, and no financial stability. His publishing house treats him with open disdain, and he is perpetually behind on rent. Yet beneath this dismal exterior lies a closely guarded secret: Tarou is the anonymous ghostwriter responsible for the meteoric rise of Nagareboshi Ryuusei, one of the most celebrated authors in the industry. Bound by strict confidentiality, Tarou must endure public humiliation while privately fueling another man’s fame. Recently, however, his bleak personal life has begun to shift in unexpected ways. Tarou harbors deep feelings for his landlord, Mabayu, a gentle and beautiful young woman who represents everything pure in his chaotic world. Complicating matters further is his neighbor Hikaru, a bold and uninhibited presence whose constant provocations thrust Tarou into a series of deeply awkward situations. Caught between hidden genius, mounting debts, and an increasingly tangled love life, Tarou faces two defining questions: will he ever step out of the shadows to claim the public success he deserves, and can he finally win Mabayu’s heart?
