Fumetsu No Hana

Moriki Naoya is a delicate, introspective high school student bound by an unspoken loyalty to a family that has long neglected him. Despite their indifference, he finds himself unable to walk away. During the summer of his final year, his quiet existence is disrupted by two unexpected encounters. He crosses paths with Takahashi, a former athlete whose devastating injury has permanently ended his dreams of playing baseball, and Noriko, a fiercely independent tomboy who navigates life with relentless optimism and a carefree spirit. Together, these three form an unlikely bond as the season unfolds around them. As the days grow shorter, Naoya faces a defining crossroads. He must choose whether to embrace the momentum of change and step forward alongside his new companions, or remain anchored to his stagnant life and watch the world move on without him. This volume also features several companion stories exploring themes of loss, duty, and quiet resilience. In one tale, a young man raised by his aunt after his father’s departure and his mother’s declining health returns to his hometown for the seventh anniversary of her passing. Additional narratives follow a man burdened by self-doubt as he continues his reluctant work as a detective, and another whose gaze remains perpetually fixed upon the ground.
