Marika's Love Meter Malfunction

For an unpopular boy, confessing his feelings to his childhood friend Marika seemed like an impossible task. Driven by sheer desperation, he made a wish upon a shooting star, hoping for some kind of miracle. To his utter astonishment, that impossible wish came true the moment he woke up the next morning. He discovered that he had gained an extraordinary ability: he could now see a visible love meter hovering above people, functioning exactly like an affection gauge in a dating simulation game. Once he confirmed this surreal phenomenon was reality and not merely a dream, he rushed immediately to find Marika. However, what he saw shattered his expectations. Instead of displaying a promising number, her love meter was broken, its value plummeting so drastically it appeared to have fallen into the very depths of hell. This reading suggested she harbored intense hatred toward him, yet her everyday behavior told a completely different story. She remained consistently kind and gentle in every interaction they shared. Now trapped between a seemingly infallible supernatural display and the warmth of her actions, he is left questioning everything he thought he knew about her true feelings.
