Scum of the Brave

Set in an alternate version of the twenty-first century, a dangerous new threat has emerged from the criminal underworld. Wealthy mafia figures now undergo increasingly popular ether-enhancement surgeries that transform them into monstrous entities known as Demon Kings. To combat this escalating menace, society relies on specialized bounty hunters called Braves, who are tasked with hunting down these powerful criminals and restoring order to the streets. Amidst this volatile world lives Yashiro, a man entirely uninterested in heroics or grand ambitions. He desires nothing more than life’s simple pleasures: pizza, beer, and card games. However, his quiet existence is interrupted when three young Braves approach him with an extraordinary proposition. They offer him a magnificent sum of money to serve as their private tutor and guide them through the perils of their dangerous profession. Driven purely by the promise of wealth rather than any sense of duty, Yashiro accepts the arrangement. Yet, as he steps into this unexpected role, he soon begins to question whether the payout is truly worth the perilous situation he has willingly walked into.
