A Misanthrope Teaches a Class for Demi-Humans

A devastating incident abruptly ends Rei Hitoma’s career in education, leaving him deeply embittered and convinced that he despises humanity. Disillusioned and withdrawn, he believes his days of standing before a classroom are permanently behind him. However, his resolve is unexpectedly tested when he encounters a job listing seeking an educator who genuinely cares for their students. Despite his profound cynicism, something about the position resonates with him, compelling him to submit an application. Before long, Rei finds himself hired, only to discover a startling truth about his new role: his students are not human at all, but demi-humans. This revelation transforms what he initially viewed as a simple return to work into an extraordinary experience. The classroom becomes an unlikely sanctuary where two vastly different worlds intersect. What unfolds is far more than a standard teaching assignment. It evolves into a profound journey of mutual healing. For Rei, guiding these unique students offers a path to mend his shattered faith in others. Meanwhile, for his demi-human pupils—who hold their own earnest aspirations regarding the human world—his instruction provides hope and direction. Together, a misanthrope who lost his belief in humanity and students who dream of understanding it forge a transformative bond.
