Mifuyu is a high school student born into a distinguished family of bibliophiles. Her great-grandfather founded Mikura Hall, a renowned library at the center of their town, where literature permeates every facet of daily life and the local residents are devoted readers. Despite this deeply ingrained literary heritage, Mifuyu harbors a secret that sets her apart from everyone around her: she absolutely despises books. Her aversion to reading is put to the ultimate test when an intruder breaks into Mikura Hall and steals from its collection, inadvertently awakening a dormant, ancient curse. With the town now facing a looming magical catastrophe, Mifuyu finds herself compelled to act. To break the curse and protect her home, she must personally retrieve the stolen volumes by physically entering the fictional worlds contained within the very pages she has always avoided. Guided by an enigmatic ally named Mashiro, Mifuyu embarks on a perilous journey through the narratives she once rejected. Together, they must navigate these treacherous stories to recover her great-grandfather’s precious collection before the curse consumes the town entirely.
