Born into a prestigious family of bibliophiles, high school student Mifuyu has never known a world without literature. Her great-grandfather founded the renowned Mikura Hall, a grand library situated at the center of their town, where reading is deeply woven into the daily lives of every resident. Yet, despite this rich literary heritage surrounding her, Mifuyu harbors a secret: she absolutely despises books. Her quiet resentment is shattered when an intruder steals from Mikura Hall and inadvertently awakens a dormant, ancient curse. With the town now threatened by an impending magical catastrophe, Mifuyu is forced into an impossible role. To break the hex and protect her home, she must personally retrieve the stolen volumes by plunging directly into the fictional worlds contained within their pages—navigating the very stories she has spent her life avoiding. Guided by an enigmatic ally named Mashiro, Mifuyu embarks on a perilous journey through realms of imagination to recover her great-grandfather’s treasured collection. As she confronts the dangers hidden between the covers, she must overcome her deep-seated aversion to literature to restore the library and save her community from ruin.
