Last Summer Vacation

To the rest of the world, Mizuki is the picture of perfection. Bright, cheerful, and endlessly compassionate, she devotes herself entirely to caring for her ailing mother without a single complaint. Everyone in class admires her as the ideal "good girl," someone whose life appears flawlessly put together from the outside. However, beneath this pristine facade lies a hidden side that no one was ever meant to discover—a vulnerability she guarded carefully until a single moment shattered her carefully maintained image. Umino, a fellow classmate, inadvertently witnesses Mizuki in a state she desperately wanted to keep concealed from everyone. This accidental encounter strips away the polished exterior Umino had always known, exposing the raw reality behind Mizuki's selfless devotion. Unable to unsee what was revealed, Umino is drawn into a situation neither of them anticipated, forcing both girls to confront truths they would rather avoid. As the weight of their shared secret grows, the two find themselves fleeing from the suffocating pressures of their everyday lives. Driven by desperation and an unexpected connection, they embark on a journey far removed from the expectations placed upon them. Yet, running away can only delay the inevitable. A poignant girls' road movie unfolds, asking what truly awaits at the end of escaping reality.
