Fighter pilot Hannan Yuichi arrives at the base to report for duty. He finds himself in a new living environment, though the familiar routines of flight and combat remain. At the base, he meets a variety of comrades in arms, as well as the stern, unsmiling commander, Kusanagi Mizuso. Hannan Yuichi is assigned a new fighter jet, but his fellow pilots remain tight-lipped about the aircraft's previous pilot. Intrigued, he begins to look into the matter and gradually uncovers the story of his predecessor—a story closely tied to Kusanagi Mizuso. As his investigation deepens, Hannan Yuichi starts to uncover secrets buried within his own memories, while his daily battles against the enemy seem to be drawing closer to a breaking point.
