Determined to leave behind the isolation and social struggles of her junior high years, Renako Amaori enters high school with a single goal: to become an ordinary girl surrounded by genuine friends. Her hopes seem fulfilled when she unexpectedly bonds with Mai Ouzuka, a glamorous and wealthy fashion model whose confidence stands in stark contrast to Renako’s reserved nature. Against all odds, the two form a deep connection, leading Renako to believe she has finally found the ideal best friend. However, this newfound happiness is thrown into chaos when Mai makes a sudden romantic confession. Caught completely off guard, Renako finds herself at the center of an unexpected emotional conflict. Rather than accepting a relationship built on romance, she becomes determined to demonstrate that their bond is far better suited for a lifelong friendship. Mai, however, refuses to back down. Convinced that they are destined to be more than just companions, she sets out to persuade Renako that love is their only path forward. What begins as a simple desire for normalcy quickly transforms into an engaging battle of wills, as both girls navigate the complicated line between platonic devotion and romantic affection.
