Dekin no Mogura: The Earthbound Mole

"I won't die, because I was banned from the afterlife." Momoyuki Mogura, a dubious figure who styles himself as a hermit and goes simply by the name Mogura, lives under an extraordinary curse. Following a mysterious incident, he has been permanently exiled from the realm of the dead, rendering him incapable of passing on. Denied the natural conclusion of mortality, he is forced to wander the mortal world without end. Determined to reverse his fate and orchestrate a triumphant return, Mogura roams the earth with a singular purpose. He carries a specialized lantern used to capture will-o'-wisps—wandering spirits that have taken possession of these ethereal flames. By gathering these spectral lights, he steadily works toward reclaiming his place in the cycle of life and death. However, Mogura’s presence carries an unsettling side effect for those unfortunate enough to cross his path. Anyone who encounters this self-proclaimed hermit begins to perceive strange and inexplicable phenomena, their vision suddenly tainted by peculiar sights they were never meant to witness. Drawn into his shadowy orbit, ordinary people find themselves entangled in a bizarre supernatural reality shaped by a man who refuses to die.
