Cultural Exchange with a Game Centre Girl

Kusakabe Renji is a young man whose daily routine revolves around his job at a local game centre. His ordinary life takes an unexpected turn on Valentine’s Day when he notices Lily Baker, a girl from England, struggling intently at one of the arcade’s crane games. Despite her persistent efforts, she repeatedly fails to secure a prize. Unable to simply stand by and watch her frustration mount, Renji feels compelled to step in and offer his assistance. Thanks to his intervention, Lily finally manages to claim the plushie she had been aiming for. However, the encounter does not end there. The very next day, Renji receives a surprising message from her that reads, “Be my valentine!” This sudden declaration catches him completely off guard, as it stems from a fundamental misunderstanding rooted in their differing cultural backgrounds. What begins as a simple act of kindness at an arcade machine quickly blossoms into something far more meaningful. Rather than clearing up the confusion and walking away, Renji and Lily find themselves drawn into an ongoing connection. Their accidental meeting sparks a genuine cultural exchange, bridging the gap between their two worlds through shared experiences and mutual curiosity.
